Brahler Talks About
Tires & Brakes
While
we can’t prevent the occasional nail puncture,
we can offer a bit of advice to ease the frustration of tire problems.
Occasionally check and maintain the air pressure in your vehicle spare
tire. Also, with the price of gasoline jumping, keeping your tires inflated
properly helps your vehicle run at peak performance, saving fuel. Brahler’s
will perform this often overlooked but helpful feature at any of their
oil & lube centers. Tire rotation can easily extend the life of your
car’s tires. We recommend tire rotation at least once a year. Tire
rotations are done at both our tire center and our oil and lube centers.
By rotating your tires as recommended, you can extend the life of your
tires by 8,000 to 10,000 miles! We also recommend a front end alignment
every year or if you purchase a new set of tires at our tire center.
Brahler
Tire & Auto Center also offers complete brake service for your vehicle.

Decrypting Your Tire Speed Rating
Are your tires "S" rated? Perhaps an "H" rating? The speed-rating
system in use today
was developed in Europe to categorize tires developed
for
specific
vehicle
speed requirements.
Please note: although
a tire may be speed rated, we do not endorse the operation of any vehicle
in an unsafe or unlawful
manner. Furthermore, tire speed ratings do not imply that a vehicle can
be safely driven at the maximum speed for which the tire is rated, particularly
under adverse road and weather conditions or if the vehicle has unusual
characteristics.
Review the list below to see where your tire
places:
B - 31 mph (50 km/h)
C - 37 mph (50 km/h)
D - 40 mph (55 km/h)
E - 43 mph (70 km/h)
F - 50 mph (80 km/h)
G - 56 mph (90 km/h)
J - 62 mph (100 km/h)
K - 68 mph (110 km/h)
L - 75 mph (120 km/h)
M - 81 mph (130 km/h)
N - 87 mph (140 km/h)
P - 93 mph (150 km/h)
Q - 99 mph (160 km/h)
R - 106 mph (170 km/h)
S - 112 mph (180 km/h)
T - 118 mph (190 km/h)
U - 124 mph (200 km/h)

Winter Weather Tips
Day to day
driving is sometimes tough enough; winter weather makes it tougher. Keeping
a few items
in your car during your
winter driving may make the difference in getting to your destination.
Store a bag of kitty litter in your trunk for added traction in slick
road conditions. Have your engine coolant checked. Also, while we don’t
recommend driving and talking on the phone, make sure you take a cell
phone in case of emergencies. Make sure your wiper fluid is topped off,
since windshields tend to get dirtier in slushy driving conditions. We
also recommend rotating tires before the snow flies. This will ensure
the maximum traction
you need to get where you’re going this winter. Another winter
tip: keep your ice scraper in the house if snow is predicted. This will
save you from having to dig your car out by hand to get to the scraper!
